CM Mann asks officials to draft bill for strict action against Illegal Colonies

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has asked the authorities to draft a bill for strict action against illegal colonizers to prevent illegal colonies from being built in the state in future.

Presiding over the meeting today in the context of the recent decision of the state government to abolish the condition of NOC for land/property registration, he said that there is a dire need to make a new law to clamp down on illegal colonizers. CM Bhagwant Singh Mann asked the officials to draft a new bill before the next session of the Punjab Legislative Assembly so that it can be approved by the Assembly.

The Chief Minister said that the illegal colonizers rob people sell their unauthorized colonies. He said that the cheated people continue to struggle for basic facilities in these colonies. CM said that colonizers make money illegally, while common people have to bear the consequences of their wrong actions.

The Chief Minister said that this will not be tolerated at any cost and strict action will be taken against colonizers selling plots without obtaining approval. He said that the state government will not allow illegal colonies to be built in Punjab and strict action will be taken against all those involved in this crime.
