CM Mann chairs meeting with Police officials, directs to conduct elections in fair and peaceful manner

  Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today asked the police officers to conduct the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in a fearless, fair and peaceful manner.

During  meeting with Inspector General of Police, Commissioners of Police and SSPs here today, the Chief Minister said that these elections must be held in a smooth and orderly manner so that people can vote freely.  

Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the police officers should make adequate arrangements for this purpose and leave no stone unturned for this noble cause.

 The Chief Minister asked the police officers to coordinate with all major partners including political parties to conduct these elections in a peaceful manner. He said that there should be a sense of security and safety in political parties so that all parties can participate in the elections.  

Speaking on another issue, the Chief Minister said that many companies of paramilitary forces will also reach the state soon to assist the Punjab Police. He said that these forces are ignorant of the traditions, religion, and customs of the state, so the Punjab Police should ensure that the religious sentiments of the people are not hurt in any way. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it is very important to follow it as it is important to take care of people’s sentiments to maintain law and order in the state.

The Chief Minister asked the police officers to ensure proper coordination between the civil and police administration at the district and state levels. He said that it is very important to follow this for the smooth conduct of the election process in the state. He said that this step will benefit the entire administration. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the police should conduct a large-scale campaign to curb the problem of illegal weapons in the state and take strict action against those possessing such weapons.
