CM Mann praises ‘Budget 2024-25’; an important step towards making ‘Rangla Punjab’

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today lauded the Budget 2024-25 presented by Finance Minister Harpal Cheema in the Assembly and described it as a step towards creating ‘Rangla Punjab’ through holistic, equitable and comprehensive development of the state.

CM Mann said that the ‘zero tax’ budget has given special attention to all the key sectors like health, education, power, infrastructure, industry, sports, social security and other sectors which are essential for development. He said that this budget will accelerate the overall development of the state and ensure the well-being of all sections of the society, especially the poor and backward classes. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that for the first time the state budget has crossed the Rs 2 lakh crore mark as several important initiatives for public welfare have been launched by the Punjab Government.

The Chief Minister said that the budget for the financial year 2024-25, prepared with economic prudence, will strengthen fiscal discipline, as well as reduce fiscal deficit with a focus on increasing revenue by mobilizing resources. He said that with this budget our state will now reach the heights of development and prosperity. Bhagwant Singh Mann expressed hope that the current budget will serve as a blueprint for the revival of the industrial sector as well as boosting the agricultural economy of the state.

Describing the current budget as a milestone, the Chief Minister said that in the near future this budget will play an important role in setting new horizons of development and progress to meet the expectations of the people of Punjab. He said that this budget reflects the pro-people policies of the state government and aims to truly serve the most vulnerable and poor sections of the society. Bhagwant Singh Mann said the budget is a result of the AAP government’s pragmatic approach to achieving the objective of comprehensive development and prosperity.
