Ludhiana: Ahead of Local bodies elections in Punjab, today PPCC Chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring announced the list of candidates for 63 MC wards of Ludhiana. Yesterday, a list of 37 candidates was shared by Shiromani Akali Dal and today, for Ludhiana MC, the Congress party declared a list of 63 candidates.
As per the election schedule, December 9 will be the first day for filling of nominations (between 11 am to 3 pm) in the offices of the concerned returning officers and December 12 will be the last date for filing nominations (up to 3 pm).
The scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on December 13 and the last date for the withdrawal of nominations will be December 14 (till 3 pm), Chaudhuri said. The voting will be held on December 21.
The state election commissioner said electronic voting machines (EVMs) would be used for the voting and a sufficient number have been arranged.
