Consumer court imposes Rs 24 lakh damages on Agriculture centre for selling poor quality seeds

Mohali: The Consumer Court Mohali has pronounced a big decision in the case of giving poor-quality seeds to the farmers by calling them hybrid seeds. The consumer court has ordered to pay damages of Rs 24 lakh 25 thousand rupees

Advocate Harpinder Singh Somal said that the farmers of Banur, Dharamgarh and surrounding areas had bought hybrid sunflower seeds from Rajpura Pesticide, Sham Trader and Agriculture Centre. After sowing the seeds, the farmers started farming, but when the flowers came, they were not of good quality.

After this, the farmers complained about it, and the seeds were tested. The test report revealed that these seeds were not of good quality. On which 11 farmers filed a case in the consumer court in the year 2022. Now, while hearing this matter, the Consumer Court has pronounced its decision.
