Jalandhar: Today the court will hear the bail plea of Khalistan supporter and brother of newly elected MP Amritpal Singh from Shri Khadoor Sahib seat, Harpreet Singh Happy. A day earlier, the police had got two days remand of Happy and his companion from Jalandhar Sessions Court.
The police had pleaded to the court for ten days remand, but the court was not happy with the police’s arguments, so only two days remand was approved. Today the court will hear Harpreet Singh Happy’s bail plea. Regarding this, Phillaur Police had applied to Jalandhar Sessions Court, in which remand was sought.
Happy was arrested by Phillaur Police along with his partner Lovepreet from Phillaur Highway on the evening of 11 July. 4 grams of ice drug was recovered from them. Due to not getting the remand of both from the lower court, the police has filed a criminal revision petition in the court of Additional Sessions Judge KK Jain which will be heard today.
At the same time, the police have already sent to jail the person from whom Happy and Lovepreet had bought drugs. These include the names of ice supplier Sandeep Arora and Sandeep’s photographer friend Manish Marwah. On the other hand, the parents of Amritpal Have denied all the charges terming it as a conspiracy.
