Crime branch raid in Bhargava Camp, 3 apprehended along with 1 Kg Heroin

Jalandhar: Ahead of the elections, Punjab Police carried out a raid to curb drug supply in the Jalandhar West area. Acting on the tip-off, the Crime Branch team raided Bhargava Camp and apprehended three individuals. Crime Branch along with Police of four different police stations conducted raid in which three individuals were arrested.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Rohit Kumar, Jitendra Kumar, and Varinder Maula. All arrested are residents of Bhargava Camp. Along with the arrest of three individuals one kilogram of heroin was also seized.

Case registered under NDPS act

The operation involved collaboration between the Crime Branch team, CIA-1 team, and police from four police stations. It has been discovered that the accused already had cases registered against them under the NDPS Act.

Families refrained from talking with Media

The families of the accused have refrained from engaging with the media regarding the police action. Meanwhile, the area has been completely sealed off by the police, and investigations are underway.

ADCP  Aditya while providing details about the operation, said that the Crime Branch received confidential information about a significant heroin consignment in the area. Acting on this tip-off, the police, with assistance from personnel from four police stations, cordoned off the area on Wednesday afternoon. Subsequently, the police raided the suspects’ residence and seized one kilogram of heroin. ADCP  mentioned that investigations into the criminal history of the accused are underway.
