Gangster Raju Shooter escapes from Tarn Taran Civil Hospital, case registered

Tarn Taran : Notorious gangster Charanjit Singh, also known as Raju Shooter, managed to escape from Civil Hospital Tarn Taran in the dead of night.

Singh, a resident of Sangha district in Tarn Taran, was under police custody and receiving treatment at the hospital following injuries sustained during a previous encounter with law enforcement.

The escape, which occurred at 2 o’clock last night, has raised serious concerns about security protocols and the effectiveness of police surveillance in the area.

Singh, who has a long history of criminal activity including the shooting of a police officer during a bank robbery, was a high-profile inmate under the custody of the Tarn Taran police.

According to reports, Singh’s escape was orchestrated with planning. Despite being confined to his hospital room, he managed to have two accomplices present without permission. With the assistance of a third associate armed with a pistol, they executed the escape plan.

Taking advantage of the late hour and lax security measures, Singh and his accomplices overpowered a police officer deployed for his security, taking him hostage, and locking the room from the outside. The commotion alerted hospital staff and authorities, prompting a swift response to contain the situation.

However, it was not until after a significant delay that the locked room was breached, allowing the captive officer to emerge safely. The escape has highlighted glaring gaps in security procedures, particularly the absence of two other policemen who were not deployed during the night shift.

Singh’s criminal record is extensive, with numerous cases registered against him for various offenses, including robbery and violent crimes. His arrest during a previous encounter resulted in injuries, for which he was undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital Tarn Taran. However, the circumstances surrounding his escape have cast doubts on the adequacy of security measures in place to handle high-risk inmates.

The Tarn Taran police department has launched a full-scale investigation into the incident, vowing to apprehend Singh and hold those responsible for aiding his escape accountable.
