Mahindra showroom in Ludhiana faces customer uproar

Ludhiana: A customer and his companions created a ruckus in the showroom of Mahindra Car Agency in Ludhiana on Saturday evening. They alleged that they bought an electronic AQV new car from the showroom, which stopped working after 90 km, while they were told that it would run for more than 300 km. Now the car is parked in the showroom, and the showroom officials are not listening to them; rather, they are being harassed. The police have started investigating the matter.

The owner of the car, Ashwani Kumar, a resident of Ludhiana, said that he had bought a new AQV car in the name of his nephew Rajan Kumar from the Mahindra car showroom in Ludhiana on May 25, which was electronic. Before giving him the car, he was told that it would run for 300 km once it was fully charged, but the car stopped working after running for 90 km. It was found that the battery was dead. He immediately contacted the company, but they asked him to charge the car battery again.

Ashwani Kumar said that he repeatedly talked to the company officials, but after no hearing, he parked his car in the company showroom on June 2 and asked them to either replace the car or take the car and return the money.

Car owner Ashwani Kumar said that he has been misled for the last 40 days. He said that before buying the car, he was told that the car runs more than 300 km on charging the battery for 8 to 10 hours at a time, but the car runs even 100 km with great difficulty and stops in between.

When Ashwani Kumar reached the showroom on Saturday evening to talk, his pleas were not heard. He and his colleagues staged a sit-in outside the showroom and protested against the company officials. He said that until his pleas are heard, he will sit on the sit-in.

The showroom gates are closed. Seeing the matter getting worse, the company officials closed all the gates of their showroom and did not allow anyone to enter. The company manager also refused to talk to anyone.

On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and started investigating the case. Investigating officer Ram Murthy said that he has made a written complaint. After listening to both parties, appropriate action will be taken.

When we talked to the company manager, Rahul Kumar, he refused to talk. The manager said that he cannot even say anything right now.
