Amritsar: Following the suspicious behaviour of a passenger and suspicious items in the baggage of the passenger, who had arrived at SGRDJI Airport, Amritsar from Dubai by Spice Jet SG56 flight on 05.03.2024, the baggage of the passenger was scanned.
After the scanning one noodle-making machine was found in the baggage. In the noodle-making machine, 449 grams of gold in crude form was concealed in the parts of the machine.
The smuggled gold has been seized on 05.03.2024 under relevant provisions of customs Act, 1962. Further investigation is underway.
The worth of seized gold is said to be around Rs 28 lakh.
