Khanauri Border: Since February, the farmers’ movement is going on at the Shambhu and Khanauri border of Punjab with 13 demands including a legal guarantee of MSP of crops. The fast unto death of 70-year-old farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal at Khanauri border has entered the 32nd day today (Friday). He has even stopped drinking water now. His health is critical but still, he has clearly refused to take medical help and has decided to stay on the front.
On the other hand, today there will be a meeting with the business, social, cultural and religious organizations of both the fronts in all the districts of the state regarding Punjab Bandh. In which further strategy will be prepared.
According to farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohad, while issuing the medical bulletin of Jagjit Singh Dallewal, the doctors have told him that his blood pressure is 88/59 which is very low. Dallewal has not even drunk water since yesterday evening. He added that Dallewal’s pulse and immunity are getting weak and doctors are more worried about his health.
Farmers have held a meeting at the Khanauri border regarding the Punjab Bandh. It has been decided in the meeting that there will be a complete bandh in Punjab from 7 am to 4 pm on December 30. Buses and trains will not run during this time. All government and private institutions will also be closed. People will be made aware of the bandh in advance.
An appeal will be made to cooperate in the Punjab Bandh by making announcements from the Gurudwaras of all the villages. Conductors in all government buses will inform the passengers about the bandh. Banners about the bandh will be put up at all toll plazas in the state.
