Day ahead of polling, 15 illicit crates of liquor recovered in Nakodar, accused arrested

Nakodar: A video from near Nakodar constituency in Jalandhar, Punjab is becoming viral on the social media. In the video, some persons are visible distributing liquor. In this regard, the police of Noormahal police station has registered a case against an accused under the Excise Act. The video has come out day before polling in the state.

The accused has been identified as Daljinder Singh son of Jaswinder Singh resident of Liddan village, Nakodar Sadar. According to the information received, this FIR has been registered on the statements of Circle Inspector Sahil Ranga of the Excise Department.

In his statements, Inspector Sahil Ranga posted in Nakodar constituency said that he was informed from the SDF office that liquor was being loaded in a vehicle near Sangha Jagir village of Noormahl. He added that based on the information received, the team immediately reached for action.

The police raided a house located in Nakodar and recovered liquor from the bathroom of the house. The police have arrested the accused Daljinder Singh from the spot along with his Scorpio car. A total of 15 boxes of liquor have been recovered by the police. The police also questioned Daljinder about the recovered liquor, but nothing was found out and no permit was recovered from him.
