The latest incident has emerged from Canada, where a Punjabi girl has died under suspicious circumstances at a Walmart. The deceased has been identified as Gursimran Kaur, originally from Guru Nanak Nagar in Suranussi, near Jalandhar. Reports indicate that she died due to a fire in the oven at Walmart.
Gursimran Kaur’s uncle, Gurvinder Singh, mentioned that her brother had moved to Canada with the family two years ago, all of them obtaining PR status from there. Gursimran was a student in the 12th grade and worked at Walmart with her mother on Saturdays and Sundays. This Saturday, she had gone to work with her mother. Her mother returned home, and shortly after, they received the news of their daughter’s death.
The circumstances surrounding Gursimran Kaur’s death have raised suspicion. It is being reported that she died in a fire in a bakery oven, but the family claims that this oven is not used on Saturdays and Sundays. Currently, Halifax Regional Police are investigating at the scene, which is why the store was closed on Sunday.
The police are also not allowing the family to enter the store. They are not sharing any details related to the case. The agriculture department has stated that they are aware of the situation and that the police are investigating at the scene. They also mentioned that they are unable to share any further information at this time.
Walmart has confirmed the death of an employee in this case. Walmart spokesperson Amanda Moss stated in a statement that they are heartbroken over the loss of their colleague. She expressed condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased employee and assured cooperation with the investigation.
