Delegation led by Karnataka Assembly Speaker meets Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan

Chandigarh: The delegation led by the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker, who visited Punjab to obtain information regarding the National e-Vidhan Application Project implemented for the first time in the Punjab Legislative Assembly, today met the Punjab Legislative Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan.

Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker Shri U. T. Khader Farid, Secretary Karnataka Legislative Council   R. Mahalakshmi, Secretary Karnataka Legislative Assembly M.K.  Vishalkashi, Private Secretary to Karnataka Speaker   Mahesh Karjagi, Advisor Shri Om Prakasha, Additional Secretary of Karnataka Legislative Council S. Nirmala, Director (I.T.)  J. E. Shashidhar, O. S. D. To Chairman Legislative Council   D. Sheela and Chief Editor of Debates Shri M. Shashikant were included in this delegation.

Presenting his views on the occasion of the meeting held at the Punjab Legislative Assembly Secretariat here today, Speaker S. Sandhwan said that the entire functioning of the Punjab Legislative Assembly has been made paperless and the entire functioning of the Legislative Assembly sessions is being conducted in a completely digital and paperless manner.

He said that a two-day National e-Vidhan Application (Neva) conference-cum-workshop was conducted to train the group MLAs and administrative secretaries to work under the new system. He said that a digital wing has been established to make the functioning of the Punjab Legislative Assembly hi-tech and connect it with modern technology

The Speaker said that while the use of Neva App has increased people’s participation through live webcasting of the proceedings of the House, the work of the Secretariat of the Punjab Legislative Assembly has also become easier.

Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U. T. Khader Farid Speaking on the occasion said that the National e-Legislation Application is an efficient system through which the entire functioning of the Punjab Legislative Assembly runs satisfactorily. He said that we are thinking of implementing a system in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly on the lines of Punjab, which works as per our needs and functioning.
