Jalandhar: A Diesel Motor Unit (DMU) train derailed late Friday night in Jalandhar, Punjab. There was no loss of life or property in the incident. This incident happened late Friday night when the train was coming out of the DMU yard after maintenance. After the train derailed, the officials present on the spot put the train back on track after about one and a half hours of hard work.
According to the information received, when this incident happened, the officials of Firozpur Railway Division were also informed about it immediately. Yesterday, i.e. on Friday, officials from Firozpur Railway Division also reached the yard at Jalandhar Railway Station to investigate the matter. A committee has been set up to investigate the matter. However, the railway officials have not issued any official statement regarding this.

According to the information received, when the train came out after maintenance, the said train reached railway line number 2. During this, the train derailed and the wheels of the train stopped on the slab built on the railway. When the officials were informed, all the officials reached the spot within half an hour and the work of putting the DMU back on the track was started. Let us tell you that before this, a goods train coming to Jalandhar was also derailed in Phillaur and Phagwara on January 9, so this is the second incident in 21 days.
