Punjab: Doctors strike continues; OPD services halted, emergency care still available

Jalandhar: Today, Friday, doctors are on strike in all government hospitals in Punjab in protest against the rape-murder of a female doctor in Kolkata. During this time, patients are not being checked by doctors in OPD.

Only patients coming in emergency are being treated. At the same time, the strike also got the support of doctors posted in mohalla clinics. At the same time, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has announced a 24-hour countrywide strike from 6 a.m. tomorrow.

Which will further increase the problems of the people. Doctors say that a doctor has been raped and murdered on duty. In such a situation, now the government should take the security of doctors on the basis of initiative.

This strike of doctors is also supported by the nursing staff. The nursing staff argues that people are aware of their rights. But they do not understand their responsibility. They say that the deceased was a doctor later, whereas earlier she was a woman. This incident shames the society. The government should take strict action on the basis of initiative.

Every district of Punjab has a district civil hospital and sub-divisional hospital. More than five thousand people are deployed in it. Apart from this, there is nursing staff. Many types of services are provided in hospitals. At the same time, it is now expected that work in hospitals will be regular from Monday.
