Government trees cut in Hoshiarpur

Hoshiarpur: On Dusarka Tanda Road and Village Gignowal Main Road in Hoshiarpur 14 government trees planted were cut. The accused were running away after stealing the trees when they were caught on the complaint of a villager. The forest department team has caught two accused.

Various trees have grown near Sadka Tanda Road and Village Gignowal Main Road. An annual fair is held here on June 16.

Avtar Singh, a resident of the area, was cleaning there with some of his people. During this, Avtar Singh saw that some people were loading cut trees in a tractor trolley. Avtar Singh immediately informed the forest department about this. After which the forest department and police reached the spot and arrested two people and took the loaded trolley into custody.

According to the information, the accused have been identified as Teg Ali and Jagat Ali son Shahuddin, residents of Pandori Mill. Avtar Singh said that when his daughter started making a video of the accused, the accused also tried to snatch her mobile phone.

In this regard, Forest Department Range Officer Kirandeep Singh said that the accused have been caught along with the tractor trolley. The Forest Department will recover the loss caused by the accused in the form of a fine and in case of not paying the fine, appropriate legal action will be taken against the accused.
