Chandigarh: The Election Commission has issued a notice to Aam Aadmi Party candidate Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon from Giddarbaha. He has been asked to file his reply within 24 hours. A complaint was filed against him by the Congress.
On the other hand, BJP candidate Manpreet Badal and Congress leader Arminder Singh Raja Waring have filed their response to the notice issued to them. Elections are to be held on November 20 in 4 assembly seats of the state, Dera Baba Nanak, Giddarbaha, Chabewal and Barnala. It became vacant after the MLAs of these seats became MPs.
In this regard, a complaint was sent to the Election Commission by Vipan Kumar, election agent of Congress candidate Amrita Waring. It was alleged that the posters printed by AAP included pictures of Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Waring and BJP leader Manpreet Singh Badal.
Also, both have black crosses on their faces. The Returning Officer issued a notice saying that pictures cannot be placed on posters without permission. Such posters have been asked to be removed within 24 hours. Otherwise, action will be taken against them.
Notices were issued to BJP candidate Manpreet Badal for promising jobs while campaigning and to Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Waring for campaigning in mosques. Both the parties have filed their replies. In response to Waring, the head of the mosque committee and the cleric have given statements. While Manpreet Badal has said in reply that he was giving advice about jobs. He also added that the viral video has been technically tampered with. Two witnesses have answered in favor of Manpreet
