ED’s Action on Sadhu Singh Dharamsot: Properties valued Rs 4.58 crore attached

Jalandhar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached assets worth Rs 4.58 crore belonging to former Congress minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot and his sons.

The ED has temporarily attached these assets under the provisions of the Anti-Money Laundering Act.

It is to be noted that the Punjab Vigilance Bureau has filed an FIR against former minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. had registered on the basis of which the ED had investigated.

The central agency, investigating under the ‘Prevention of Money Laundering Act’ (PMLA) to legalize black money, found that former minister Dharamsot had accumulated assets in excess of his sources of income from March 1, 2016 to March 31, 2022.

The properties acquired when Dharamsot was the forest minister have also been included in this probe. ED Jalandhar has provisionally attached various properties of Sadhu Singh Dharamsot worth Rs 4.58 crore owned by him and his sons under the provisions of PMLA.
