Encounter between police and criminals in Kapurthala; Two injured

Kapurthala, May 27: In a major breakthrough, two criminals were injured in a shootout between the police and criminals in the Dhilwan area of ​​Kapurthala, Punjab, this morning. Both have been admitted to the emergency ward of Civil Hospital Kapurthala.

SSP Kapurthala Gaurav Tura said that the police had received secret information that two criminals, Hukam Singh and Joga Singh of Sultanpur, are roaming around in the Dhilwan area with the intention of committing a crime. Both are real brothers.

Based on the information, the police team blocked the road in Dhilwan Mandi. When the police tried to stop two bike riders, they opened fire on the police team. In retaliation, both the miscreants were injured by bullets.

Police have recovered two pistols, three cartridges and a bike without number plate from the spot. SSP said that several cases of robbery and snatching are already registered against both the accused. At present, both the injured miscreants are undergoing treatment in the civil hospital. Police is busy investigating the case.
