Export of raw leather material must be stopped: Praveen Arora

Managing Director of Raghu Exports India and leading leather industrialist Praveen Arora said that raw leather is being exported from Kanpur and Chennai due to which the leather industry will have to face huge problems in the coming times because if raw material is not available then it will not be possible to make leather products. He said that earlier the government used to charge 60% export duty on leather export, which was reduced to 40% and now it has been reduced to 20% but leather is being exported by under-billing due to which the government is also incurring losses. It is very important to stop this. Praveen Arora said that earlier the government used to give incentives up to 40% to promote exports which has now been reduced to five percent. It is necessary to increase incentives to increase exports.
