Chandigarh: As per official sources, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team on Wednesday carried out raids at as many as 19 places including Himachal, Chandigarh, Punjab. In Himachal, a team of 150 officers in 40 vehicles have reached Kangra, Una, Shimla, Mandi and Kullu. The raids by ED have been carried out in case related to the generation of fake Ayushman Bharat AB-PMJAY ID cards.
The ED team is investigating the House of Congress MLA from Nagrota Bagwan RS Bali and his private Fortis Hospital regarding irregularities in the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Apart from this, the team is scrutinizing documents at the House of Congress candidate from Dehra and state Congress treasurer Dr. Rajesh Sharma and his Balaji Hospital. There is also information of raids on other private hospitals in Kangra.
On the other hand, the ED team has also raided Shri Banke Bihari Private Hospital in Una district. The team officials arrived in two vehicles and the investigation is going on inside the hospital. The ED team is scrutinizing the hospital records. Apart from this, the ED team is also investigating in Basdehra of Mehtpur.
As per information many medical bills have been generated on such fake cards, causing loss to the exchequer and public. Names of RS Bali, a congress MLA from Nagrota, Himachal Pradesh, chairman of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation and the vice-chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Board, and Dr Rajesh Sharma, Shree Balaji Hospital, Kangra have also figured in the fraud and their premises are also being searched by ED.
