Coimbatore: Farmer leaders including Sarwan Singh Pandher met the Coimbatore Police Commissioner R Stalin. Farmer leaders met the police commissioner in view of the detention of Farm leaders. The police commissioner expressed regret and assured farmers that it would not happen again.
Yesterday Sarwan Singh Pandher was detained by Coimbatore Police in Tamil Nadu. As per reports, Pandher along with other farm leaders were trying to burn the effigy of the Modi government in protest against the non-fulfillment of their demands.
Farmers are also taking out the Asthi Kalash Yatra of youth farmer Shubhkaran Singh who was shot dead during Farmers’ protest at the Punjab-Haryana Border.
In today’s meeting of farmers with Police Commissioner R Stalin, he assured full support to farmers for their Yatra. The police commissioner also said that a Nodal officer will be appointed to support the Asthi Kalash Yatra of Shubhkaran Singh in Tamil Nadu.
