Jalandhar: Severe heatwave turned out to be fatal for a person in Jalandhar.In a tragic incident, a person died under suspicious circumstances near Focal Point in Jalandhar, Punjab. According to the police, the person died due to extreme heat. The deceased has not been identified and no marks of any kind have been found on the body of the deceased. The police have sent the body to the Civil Hospital in Jalandhar for postmortem. The age of the deceased is estimated around 55 to 60 years.
Person lying Unconscious on flyover
In charge of the Focal Point post of Thana Division Number 8, Avtar Singh said that the police control room was informed that a person was lying unconscious near the Focal Point flyover, Sanjay Gandhi Nagar. The police immediately rushed the said person to the hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.
The body will be kept in the civil hospital for 72 hours for identification
Incharge of the Focal Point post, Avtar Singh said that no identity card or other document was found in the pocket of the deceased becuase of which he could not be identified.
To identify the deceased, his body has been kept in the civil hospital for 72 hours. If the deceased is not identified during this time, the police itself will perform the last rites of the deceased.
