Father-son duo crushed to death by truck in Jalandhar, body parts found scattered on road

Jalandhar: On Wednesday morning, a speeding tipper crushed a father-son duo riding a bike in Jalandhar, Punjab. The accident was so severe that both of them died on the spot. The accident took place near Khalsa School on Nakodar Road. Bhargava Camp police station has taken the bodies of both and sent them to the hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Jasvir Singh (42) and Kraman Singh (16), residents of Heran village. The intensity of the accident can be understood by the fact that body parts and bones were lying scattered on the road which were later picked up by the Police in a polybag.

CCTV video of this grim incident has also surfaced. In the video it can be seen the father-son duo riding a bike collided with a person walking on the road while overtaking a tipper from the wrong side at 5.28 am. The bike fell on the road and the father-son duo came under the tyre of the tipper. The truck crushed both father and son and later was taken into the custody of the police.

Joy turned into tragedy

Jasvir’s brother-in-law Mohinder Singh said that today was his daughter’s wedding. They had gone to Maqsudan Mandi to buy vegetables. He was little ahead on the bike whereas both deceased were on the other bike.

When Jasvir did not come after going some distance, he called, but no one picked up the call. Later after coming back, Mohinder Singh got to know about the accident which turned their joy into tragedy.
