Food grain transportation Scam: Former Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu sent to 14-day judicial custody

Jalandhar: Former Punjab Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu was presented in Jalandhar Court by ED officials amidst tight security today. After hearing both the sides, the court today sent Ashu to jail in judicial custody for 14 days. Although it was being said that ED could have made big revelations in this case by presenting evidence in the court, but after the hearing, the court has given the decision of judicial custody on Bharat Bhushan Ashu. ED officials have taken Ashu on remand for the last 10 days. Ashu is being continuously questioned for the last 10 days. Ashu was arrested by ED on August 1.

According to sources, it has been learned that ED has summoned about 5 people who are very close to Ashu. Some of these are also those people whose involvement was found by Vigilance in the transport tender scam. The number of people summoned in the investigation list may increase in the coming days. Even the financial accounts of many people close to Ashu are being investigated. Officials are also preparing to question several investors and financiers.

Officials are also eyeing the LDP case. ED officials are working on the records of Ashu’s bank accounts and foreign transactions. According to sources, apart from the transport tender scam, ED officials have now started collecting records of the LDP case as well.

Investigation of this case is also going to begin in the coming days. CBI is also keeping an eye on both these cases. If the CBI investigates this case, then the accused may face investigation.
