Jalandhar: Jalandhar seat remains a hot seat in Punjab ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Except for Shiromani Akali Dal, all prominent parties have announced their candidates. The Political campaign is in full swing part of which, leaders are holding road shows, meeting with party workers, and reaching out to voters of their constituency.
Pawan Kumar Tinu is AAP’s Choice for the Jalandhar seat whereas former MP and AAP turncoat Sushil Kumar Rinku is contesting elections from BJP ticket. Congress, which has a stronghold in Jalandhar has given ticket to former CM Charanjit Singh Channi who is the prominent Dalit face of the party.
Yesterday, Charanjit Singh Channi was seen eating langar while sitting with the people at the Sri Guru Ravidas Temple located in the West area of Jalandhar. Before that, meetings were also held by him at different places in this area. What is noteworthy is that the west area is the stronghold of Sushil Kumar Rinku, and Charanjit Singh Channi is making visits and holding meetings with party workers there.
Meanwhile, while talking to the media, Congress candidate and former Chief Minister Charanjit Channi said that today he had come to the temple and offered prayers. He thanked the people who came to meet him.
Targeting Rinku, Channi said that this time competition is one sided. He added that Rinku had done nothing for the people and this time he would not get anything from people of Jalandhar west.
