Former DSP Raka Gera Convicted in 13-Year-old bribe case, CBI Court to pronounce verdict tomorrow

Chandigarh: The Special CBI Court Chandigarh on Monday Convicted former Punjab Police Woman DSP Raka Gera. The conviction of Former DSP has come in a 13-year-old bribe case. It was said that she has taken Bribe of Rs 1 lakh and now after 13 years she has been convicted. The Special CBI Court will pronounce its verdict on February 7.

After Court declared her guilty, the police took Former DSP Raka Gera into the custody. It should be noted that Raka Gera was on bail.

What is the Matter?

13 years back, on the complaint of builder KK Malhotra, a resident of Mullanpur, Mohali, the CBI arrested Raka Gera on 25 July 2011 for accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from his house in Sector-15, Chandigarh. It should be noted that Punjab and Haryana High Court had put stay for 5 years on the trial of this case. But last year in August 2023, the stay was lifted and trial Continued again.

After search operation at residence of Former DSP, arms were also recovered. However she was acquitted in the case of recovery of arms.
