Former Minister Sucha Singh Langah re-inducted in SAD after 7 years

Chandigarh: Sucha Singh Langah has returned to the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). The party’s working president Balwinder Singh Bhundar has decided to include him in the party. The party has given information about this by posting on its social media account. He was out of the party for about seven years. At the same time, discussions have started that the party can make him a candidate in the assembly by-election to be held on Dera Baba Nanak seat.

The party has said in its post that a letter has been received from Sucha Singh Langah as a request. He has put it before the party that the court has acquitted him of all the charges against him.

He has also written that this matter was taken to Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the highest court of the Khalsa Panth, by his opponents and after all the proceedings by Sri Akal Takht Sahib, he has now been included in the Khalsa Panth again.

When the allegations were made against him, he immediately resigned from all the posts of the party. Now in his written letter, he has said that he was an Akali by birth and will remain an Akali till his last breath. He has also made a simple request to take the opportunity to serve the party again.

After considering the request made by Langah to the party in the light of the facts presented by him, it has been decided to give him a chance to serve again as a simple worker.

A case was registered against Langah on 29 September 2017 on the complaint of a woman constable. This woman had alleged that Langah had been raping her since 2009. This woman had also made a video clip, which she handed over to the police. Later, Gurdaspur police registered a case against him. On 5 October 2017, Langah surrendered in the court. Later, Langah was acquitted by the court after the complainant retracted her statements.
