In a major development, Former MLA Satkar Kaur who was arrested by the Anti Narcotics Task Force for drug trafficking has been expelled from the party for 6 years. Former MLA Satkar Kaur who was earlier in Congress and later joined BJP in 2022 was arrested for selling drugs. As per information, 100 grams of heroin was also recovered from her. On Wednesday evening, when Satkar came with the driver to supply drugs at Booth Wala Chowk in Kharar, the police team was already there to caught her.
BJP expels party member for 6 years
The circular issued by BJP read, “As per Punjab Chief of BJP Suni Jakhar Former MLA Satkar Kaur has been expelled from the party for 6 years. ”
After seeing the police, the driver of the former MLA drove over a police employee leaving him seriously injured. Later both driver and former MLA were arrested by the police. This arrest took place on Wednesday evening around 5 pm.
Yesterday IG Sukhchain Singh Gill said in a press conference that the police investigation is still going on. A case has been registered at the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) police station in Mohali. After the arrest, a raid was also conducted at the former MLA’s house. During this, 28 grams of heroin and Rs 1.56 lakh drug money were recovered from the house.
Satkar Kaur left the Congress in 2022 and joined the BJP. About 2 years ago, the Vigilance raided Satkar Kaur’s house on charges of disproportionate assets. Vigilance had also questioned the former MLA for 5 hours.
