Amritsar: Punjab Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal confirmed that two suspects have been identified in connection with the explosion outside the Thakurdwara Temple in Amritsar’s Khandwala area on Saturday morning. The minister stated that miscreants had thrown a grenade at the temple after midnight, but fortunately, there were no injuries or casualties. The situation has been brought under control, and authorities are taking swift action.

Two masked men, riding a motorcycle, were captured on CCTV footage throwing what is believed to be an explosive at the temple. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the suspects hurl the suspicious object, and while no one was harmed, the police quickly arrived on the scene and began an investigation.

Amritsar Commissioner GPS Bhullar suggested the involvement of Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI, in the incident, stating that the agency may be attempting to incite disturbances in Punjab. He assured that the police would trace the culprits quickly and take appropriate action. The police also warned the youth not to ruin their lives with such activities.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann commented on the incident, noting that there have been multiple attempts to disturb the peace in the state, including issues related to drugs, gangsters, and extortion. He emphasized that Punjab’s law and order situation remains stable, contrasting it with incidents in other states, such as the use of lathicharges during Holi processions.

This explosion follows an attack on Friday at the Golden Temple, where at least five people were injured by an assailant using an iron rod at Shri Guru Ramdas Sarai, a pilgrim lodging facility.
