Gurdaspur: In a tragic news, a 22-year-old youth from Rupowali village of district Gurdaspur died after the collapse of the boom of a crane in Dubai. Hearing the news of this painful accident, the family members were left devasted.
Giving information in this regard, the villagers and family members said that 22-year-old George Masih son of Balkar Masih of Rupowali village had gone on a helper’s visa to Dubai about two and a half years ago. The 22-year-old youth became the breadwinner of his family by sending financial assistance to his parents.
Yesterday parents of the deceased received a call from Dubai that George Masih’s mobile crane had broken down and he had been seriously injured. Family members added that after the incident, George was taken to hospital by company officials for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries and died during treatment.
Family members and other villagers were shocked and devasted after listening to the shocking news. The villagers have requested the Punjab government and social service organizations to help them bring the body of the deceased youth home. The villagers said that the deceased youth was supporting his family by working abroad and had taken responsibility of the two sisters, two brothers and elderly parents in his family.
