Jalandhar: In an intelligence-led operation, Counter Intelligence Jalandhar in a joint operation with SBS Nagar Police have solved the hand grenade attack incident that was reported at Police post Asroan, PS Kathgarh. Police in this operation have arrested 3 persons involved in connection with the hand grenade incident. The information has been shared by DGP Gaurav Yadav.

The joint team arrested three accused namely Yugpreet Singh (Yuvi), Jaskaran Singh, & Harjot Singh. As per police, the arrested accused are members of Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) module controlled by handlers based in Germany and UK. Police divulged that accused were tasked to target police establishments and leaders of minority groups.
DGP Yadav further added that the module has received funding of Rs 4.5 Lakh over the last six months. Preliminary investigation by Police revealed that the grenade was retrieved on 28th November from a Dead Letter Box (DLB) from the G.T. Road in Jalandhar and was thrown at Police Post Asron in SBS Nagar on 2nd December. On December 2nd, hand grenade was thrown at the Asron police post in Nawanshahr. The grenade did not detonate and was defused.
Police also recovered one country-made pistol, 1 revolver, and 6 live cartridges from the accused. DGP Yadav assured that Punjab Police is committed to ensuring peace & security in the region
