Haryana Man attacks SGPC employees, devotees at Golden Temple; 4 injured

Amritsar: A man from Haryana allegedly launched an attack on SGPC employees and devotees with an iron rod at Guru Ram Dass Serai in the Golden Temple on Friday, leaving four individuals injured.

According to sources, the incident occurred when the SGPC staff noticed the man acting suspiciously and inquired about his identity. After a brief argument, the staff asked him to leave the area. The man then left but returned shortly afterward, armed with an iron rod, and attacked the SGPC staff and devotees who tried to intervene.

The attack left 4 people injured, including 2 SGPC sewadars. The assailant was overpowered by others present at the scene and handed over to the police.

Sarmel Singh, the SHO of Kotwali Police Station, confirmed the arrest of the attacker, identified as Zulfan from Haryana, who also suffered injuries during the incident. An investigation is currently underway to determine the reasons behind the attack.

The injured victims are receiving medical treatment, and their condition is stable. authorities are continuing their investigation into the motive behind the assault.
