Heat wave alert in Punjab, Heat will increase in coming days: IMD

According to the Meteorological Department, heat wave will increase in the coming days. IMD has issued an alert regarding heat wave.

According to the department, there is a possibility that the entire state will be affected by ‘heat wave’ on May 16. In such a case, extreme caution is required. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the weather will remain dry, although there is a possibility of light rain in some areas of Punjab after May 9.

Yellow alert has been issued especially on May 10. During this time, strong winds will also blow along with the rain.

Elderly, children and pregnant women take special care
Doctors advised people to be alert to avoid heat in the coming days. They said that these days the heat is increasing rapidly, newborns, small children, pregnant women and senior citizens should take special care to avoid ‘heat wave’.

They said that work should be done outside the house during the cool hours of the day such as morning and evening. Drink water every half hour even if you are not thirsty. People with epilepsy or heart disease, kidney or liver disease who are on a fluid-restricted diet should consult a doctor before increasing their water intake.
