Chandigarh: The Punjab government has changed the school timings amid rising heatwave. After the change in the timing of government schools, Now schools across Punjab will work between 7 am to 12 noon. The Punjab government has changed the time due to the intense heat which makes it difficult for school-going children to come. Earlier the school timings were from 8 am to 2 pm.
After the timing revision, Schools across Punjab were seen open at 7 am. School management has also been advised to make adequate arrangements for the children amid the scorching heat.
The Change in the school timings will be applicable from today, i.e. May 20 to May 31. The Govt has announced summer vacations from June 1 to June 30 in all schools of state.
It is currently very hot in Punjab. It has become difficult for people to get out this summer. On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has also issued a heat wave alert. It has been advised to remain indoor if work is not there. Advisory to wear loose clothes and remain hydrated has also been issued to people.
