Hoshiarpur, June 20: In a shocking incident of business rivalry turned deadly, a youth named Aryan, son of Amit Kumar and resident of Sihwan Garhshankar, was shot dead on the night of june 18, 2025, near Shahpur village on Nangal Road, under the jurisdiction of Garhshankar Police Station in Hoshiarpur district. The murder was reportedly carried out by his relative and former employer, Naveen Kumar.
Accused ran clothing store, victim was former employee
Naveen Kumar, who runs a ready-made garments shop named Navi-Fashion Point in Jhungia (Binewal), was Aryan’s maternal uncle’s son. Aryan had been working at Naveen’s Shop but has recently planned to open his own clothing outlet in the same village. This development reportedly triggered business jealousy in Naveen, who feared Aryan’s new shop would divert his customers.
Planned killing with an Illegal weapon
According to the police, Naveen lured Aryan to a scheduled spot near Shahpur Ghat on Nangal Road and shot him twice, once in the head and once in the chest using an illegal .32 bore pistol. Aryan died on the spot.
Co-conspirators arrested:
Under the direction of District Police Chief and the supervision of SPD Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Garhshankar and Mahilpur police conducted a swift investigation. Two other individuals, Gurmukh and Gurdeep, sons of Somnath and residents of Mahindwani, have also been arrested for their involvement. They allegedly provided the pistol and used their car, a Toyota Etios Liva (PB 02 CP 3993), to assist Naveen in the crime.
The murder weapon and the vehicle used in the crime have been recovered. Police confirmed that a case has been registered, and further investigation is ongoing to uncover any additional accomplices or motives.
