Hotspots identified after spread of Diarrhea in Mohali, 34 cases reported

Mohali’s village Kumbhda has emerged as the district’s hot spot for diarrhea. Given the increasing cases of diarrhea, the administration has intensified the safety operations. So far, a total of 34 cases of diarrhea have been reported in the Civil Hospital, out of which 7 are children.

The administration and the health department are taking all possible preventive measures at all the hot spots. Dr. Harmandeep Brar said that keeping in mind the water samples and other reasons, 15 points have been considered sensitive in view of diarrhea, out of which Kumbhda has emerged as the most sensitive area. Apart from this, some colonies and village areas in these three areas of Jujhar Nagar, Balongi, Badhmajra, Kharar, Zirakpur and Derabassi have emerged as sensitive points for diarrhea. Department teams are working.

Teams of Municipal Corporation, Health and Sanitation are working together at all places here. According to the information, more cases have been reported in the area around Mora Wala in Kumbhda, where the tribals living there have been asked to use only the water sent through tankers.

Dr. Harmandeep Kaur said that from January to 15 July, teams of the corporation and related departments collected 561 samples from various areas and sent them for testing, out of which 243 samples were found to be failed, while samples from 295 places were found to be correct. At the same time, Medical Officer Dr. Isha Arora from Civil Hospital said that there has been an increase in cases of diarrhea in Kumbhda. Special arrangements have been made for the treatment of patients coming to the hospital. At present, 34 cases of diarrhea have been reported, out of which 7 are children.
