Ludhiana: Husband attacks on wife with axe, jaw and nose broken; dispute over money

Ludhiana: In Guru Nanak Nagar of Khanna city of Ludhiana district, a husband attacked his wife with an axe. The ruthless husband attacked her directly in the face. Due to this, the woman’s nosebone and jaw broke.

50-year-old Nirmal Kaur was admitted to the city’s civil hospital in a bloody condition. After stabilizing her condition, the doctor referred the woman to Ludhiana.

Injured woman Nirmal Kaur’s daughter-in-law Ramandeep Kaur told to media that her father-in-law was not going to work for 10 days. Earlier also, he used to work as per his wish. Due to poverty in the house, her mother-in-law Nirmal Kaur works as a cleaner in houses.  But her father-in-law keeps asking for money. A quarrel broke out between the two over this matter. Her father-in-law attacked her mother-in-law with an iron axe. When she came forward to rescue her, he pushed her back and threatened to attack her too. He hit her mother-in-law with an axe on her face. When he tried to hit her on the head again, the neighbours saved her mother-in-law’s life. Her mother-in-law, covered in blood, was admitted to the Civil Hospital.

Dr. Navdeep Jassal, posted on emergency duty at the Civil Hospital, said that the police have been informed after preparing an MLR. Nirmal Kaur’s nosebone is broken in the incident, and her jaw is also broken. Due to the absence of an ENT doctor at Khanna Hospital, she has been referred to Ludhiana Civil Hospital.

SHO of City Station 2 Gurmeet Singh said that after getting the letter from the Civil Hospital, the police team will record the statement of the injured woman. The scene of the incident will be inspected, and information will also be obtained from the people around.
