Jagraon: In Jagraon, on Tuesday, the villagers protested outside the SSP office against the post-in-charge of village Bhuddi for filing false cases against the youths. During this, the villagers raised slogans against the police and said that the police registered a case against the people sitting at home without any investigation and no action was taken against the youths who had fought.
After the protest outside the SSP office, the police turned the Tehsil road into a police cantonment. At the same time, people started protesting and sloganeering outside the gate. Talking about this, Arjan Singh and Charanjit Kaur told me that recently there was a fight between two youths in village Bhuddi over some issues. Regarding this, the villagers kept trying to settle the matter on their own. But, for some reason, no settlement was reached between the two parties.
After this, Gurpreet Singh of one party complained to the police. Regarding this matter, the post-in-charge, Daljit Singh, registered a case against the elderly sitting at home without any investigation. He was not even involved in the fight. Not only this but a 65-year-old woman was also included in the case.
When they talked to the outpost in charge about this, he did not listen to them. Due to this, they were forced to sit on a protest. Regarding this matter, the SSP assured the protesters that the matter would be investigated. There will be no injustice with anyone, after which the protest was ended.
