Ludhiana: In Ludhiana, Punjab, a 13-year-old girl became 5 months pregnant after she was gang-raped six months ago. After which the family approached the High Court, and after the High Court’s order, the police registered a case against two culprits, but despite six months having passed, the police have neither registered a case against the main accused in whose house the girl was raped nor is the victim’s family getting justice.
The family alleges that the main accused has close relations with Ludhiana’s Aam Aadmi Party MLA Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina, and MLA Chhina has protected her till now. On Saturday, in connection with the incident, Ravi Bali, President of Bhagwan Valmiki Sevak Sangh, gave a 72-hour ultimatum to the police in a press conference and said that if the police do not register a case against the main accused, Gaurav Kumar, and arrest him by Tuesday, then a candle march will be taken out in the city and the CM House in Jalandhar.
The mother and father of the 13-year-old innocent said that they have four children, including two daughters. The second daughter studies in the sixth grade at a government high school, and she runs her family by doing household chores. Their daughter was gang-raped by the neighbors six months ago.
On the day of the incident, their daughter was studying alone at home, and her mother had gone to work. When the rest of the children had gone to school, Gaurav Kumar, who lives in the neighborhood, Mahadev Nagar Gyaspura, seeing their daughter alone at home, lured her and took her home with him on the pretext of feeding her something. There he called his other friends Shiv, Mahinder, and another person who raped his daughter in turns, and then left the house and fled.
