In Ludhiana, street vendors jams the road

Ludhiana: In Ludhiana, today street vendors jammed the road due to the removal of shops. Municipal corporation employees removed their shops.

Street vendors opened a front against the Municipal Corporation on Monday in the Janakpuri area of Ludhiana. Street vendors arrived in large numbers and blocked the road by staging a sit-in and raising slogans.

The matter is being told about the action taken by the Municipal Corporation against the street vendors. The street vendors have also made serious allegations against the Municipal Corporation employees for taking money.

A day earlier, the Municipal Corporation employees reached the Janakpuri area, took action against the street vendors, and removed the street vendors from there. Municipal Corporation employees say that they have also given notices to the street vendors here many times.

Because this area is crowded, common people face problems. Street vendors stand on the roadside and set up their carts. Some shopkeepers also help them, and it is legally wrong.

On Monday, the workers who sat on a protest accused the municipal corporation employees of harassing them and said that they have been running hawkers in this area for years to support their families. But now we are being harassed deliberately by the municipal corporation employees, which we will not tolerate.
