International Women’s Day : Ferozeshah railway station operated by wholly women crew

On the occasion of International Women’s Day today, March 8, 2024, a railway station and a train of Firozepur division were operated entirely by women railway workers. Today all the responsibilities were handled by women railway workers at Ferozeshah Railway Station.

Firozeshah railway station was operated by women railway workers. At Ferozeshah Railway Station, the duty of Station Master was performed by Miss Shalu and the duty of Pointsman was performed by Miss Rashmi.

The operation of special train number 04997, which ran between Ludhiana and Firozpur Cantt, was completely under the responsibility of women railway workers. There were women railway workers in the roles of locopilot, assistant locopilot and train manager. The security team and checking staff also included only women railway workers.

As soon as train manager Miss Yogendra Shekhawat gave the green signal, locopilot Miss Bhupinder Kaur and assistant locopilot Miss Anjali Kashyap left for Firozpur Cantt with a special train from Ludhiana station. The responsibility of security of passengers in the train was carried out by the female constables of Railway Protection Force, Miss Annu and Miss Seema, while the responsibility of ticket checking was carried out by CIT Miss Poonam, TTI Miss Rani and Miss Paramjeet Kaur.

Divisional Railway Manager Shri Sanjay Sahu extended best wishes to all the women on the occasion of International Women’s Day. She said that the purpose of celebrating International Women’s Day is to empower women all over the world socially, economically and politically.

He said that today women are not lagging behind in any field and are working shoulder to shoulder with men in all fields. He said that now the participation of women in Indian Railways is continuously increasing. He appealed to all the women railway workers to do their work with dedication and cooperate in the progress of the country.
