Jalandhar: Making the biggest seizure of this year, Commissionerate Police Jalandhar busted an international drug syndicate. Police arrested 3 operatives of the syndicate along with the seizure of 48kg heroin. The information was shared by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav.
The syndicate busted was actively involved in the transborder and interstate drug smuggling. The syndicate was spread across 5 countries namely Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, Pakistan and Canada.
They also had a domestic network spanning 2 states namely Border state Jammu and Kashmir and Gujarat.
Along with the arrest of operatives, Police also recovered 21 lakhs in illicit funds confiscated, with a cash counting machine and three high-end vehicles. Police has registered FIR under NDPS act. Investigation from police is going on to demolish the drug network.
