Jalandhar has successfully prioritized efficient, citizen-focused services, leading to the lowest number of pending applications at its sewa kendras. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal reported that between October 28, 2023, and October 27, 2024, the administration handled 378,029 applications out of a total of 399,374 received for various services.
Dr. Aggarwal noted that 12,258 applications were denied due to incomplete information or other issues, while 6,683 applications are still being processed, expected to be completed on time. The district administration’s commitment to a “zero-pendency” strategy aligns with the Punjab Government’s goal of providing uninterrupted and timely services to citizens.
To uphold this success, Dr. Aggarwal emphasized the importance of regular monitoring of sewa kendras and gathering feedback from the public. Currently, Jalandhar operates 35 sewa kendras that provide over 430 services from multiple departments. He urged citizens to report any challenges they face in accessing services to ensure swift resolutions.
