A laborer returning from his work at Focal Point in Jalandhar, Punjab, died after being hit by a crane. The deceased used to work in a factory located at Focal Point. The deceased has been identified as Dinesh Nishad, a resident of Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh.
As soon as the information about the accident was received, the police of Focal Point outpost reached the spot. The police have sent the body to Civil Hospital Jalandhar for post-mortem. The crane driver and the crane have also been taken into custody by the police. The police have started further action after recording the statement of the deceased’s family.
The deceased’s partner Dinesh said that both of them work together in a factory in Focal Point. He was going home after the holiday late in the evening like every day. Then a crane came from behind and hit his partner Dinesh.
By the time Dinesh could be saved, the crane had already passed over his head. Due to this he died on the spot. After the incident, the frightened crane driver fled from the spot. With the help of the people, the crane driver was caught and the police were called.
Focal Point Police Chowki Incharge Avtar Singh said that he had received information late in the evening that a person had died after being hit by a crane at Focal Point. The police party seized the body from the spot and sent it for post-mortem. At the same time, the crane driver and his helper were arrested on the spot and taken into custody.
