Jalandhar: The controversy in Punjab over BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut’s statement against farmers and then the film Emergency is not stopping. Now former Punjab CM and Jalandhar Lok Sabha MP Charanjit Singh Channi has strongly opposed Kangana Ranaut. Channi has advised Kangana not to get angry like former MP Simranjit Singh Mann. He added that permission of SGPC is must for the release of film.

Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi said that the film will not be allowed to run without the permission of SGPC. At the same time, Kangana should not be taken too seriously. He also took a dig at Simranjit Singh Mann and said that one should not get angry like him.

Lok Sabha MP from Jalandhar Channi said , “Punjab, Haryana and Himachal are part of old Punjab. Everyone has brotherhood among themselves. Our mutual understanding has never broken and will never be allowed to break. It will be allowed to continue like this. If any force tries to break it, it will be given a befitting reply.”

On the representation of Sikhs in Emergency, Charanjit Singh Channi said, “Wherever Sikh history has to be shown, permission should have been taken from them by showing the film to SGPC first. SGPC is the main institution of the people of the Sikh community.”
