IndiGo Airlines launches direct Adampur to Mumbai flight from July 2; Fulfilling long-standing demand of sikh devotees

Jalandhar, July 1: Strengthening the air connectivity of Punjab, IndiGo Airlines is going to start direct flight service between Adampur (Jalandhar) and the country’s financial capital, Mumbai, from tomorrow, i.e. July 2. This new service is considered an important step for the people of Punjab, especially the Sikh community. Because now the Sikh community can take a direct flight from Punjab to Mumbai. From there, the Sikh community will be able to easily pay obeisance at Takht Sri Hazur Sahib.

Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu said that this is not just a new flight but it is a historic decision fulfilling the long-standing demand of Sikh devotees.

It was especially difficult for elderly devotees as there was no direct air service available from here. He said that schemes like Udaan (UDAN) make it clear that the central government fully respects the sentiments of the Sikh community.

Convenience will also be available in travelling to other places, including Nanded

Let us tell you that flights from Adampur to Nanded Sahib have already started, and now this new direct flight from Adampur to Mumbai is another big gift for the Sikh community, who can travel further from Mumbai to Nanded or other places.

Sandhu said that the purpose of this flight is not only from a religious point of view, but it is also part of the larger goal of connecting small cities of the country with an air network under the ‘Udaan’ scheme of the Central Government. This is a great initiative for the people of Punjab, which will further strengthen the air connectivity of the state.
