Jalandhar: Renovation of CM Mann’s new house begins: will shift with family, preparing for assembly by-elections

Jalandhar: For the by-election to be held in Jalandhar West Assembly constituency of Punjab, CM Bhagwant Mann has decided to rent a house in Jalandhar Cantt area. CM Mann has started the work to shift in that house.

The road passing in front of the house has been repaired. Now the work of giving finishing touch to the house is going on. CM’s wife Dr. Gurpreet Kaur and sister Manpreet Kaur will also come to live with him in this house. As soon as the renovation is completed, CM Mann will shift to the said house in Deep Nagar.

Planning to stay here till 2027

This new place of his will not only be for a month till the by-election, but till the 2027 assembly elections. According to the information, CM Mann will stay in this house 3 days a week. This is being done because it will keep him in close contact with the leaders and people of Doaba and Manjha region.

This will also give a boost to the Government at Your Doorstep program. Let us tell you that during the Lok Sabha by-election, CM Mann and his team stayed in hotels, but this time for the by-election, CM Mann has decided to rent a house in Jalandhar.

AAP’s most prominent contender Bhagat Chunni Lal

AAP’s preparations are in full swing for the by-election to be held in Jalandhar West Assembly constituency. There is an AAP government in the state and the MLA Sheetal Angural (now in BJP) who resigned was also from AAP. After his joining the BJP, by-elections will be held on the said seat.

From June 14 to June 21, leaders of all parties will file nominations from here. For this, AAP’s most prominent contender is Mohinder Bhagat, son of Assembly constituency in-charge and former BJP minister Bhagat Chunni Lal. However, many other AAP leaders have also presented their claim for the said seat. This includes the names of District Coordinator Steven Claire and District Planning Committee Chairman Amritpal Singh.

AAP won 92 out of 117 assembly seats

There are a total of 117 assembly seats in the Punjab Assembly. The last election was held in March 2022, in which AAP got 92 seats and Congress got 18 seats. Whereas, 7 seats went to the account of other parties. In that election, many AAP candidates won who had no experience of politics.
