In Kishanpura, Jalandhar, municipal employees who were cleaning the sewerage with a jetting machine were attacked with sharp weapons. The employees, including the J. E. of the Municipal Corporation, alleged that they were cleaning the sewerage in the area. The father and son living in the area started arguing with him about parking all the vehicles and then attacked him and his employees with sharp weapons.
After the attack, all the groups of the Municipal Corporation gathered at the spot. The corporation employees demanded action against the culprits and also started a protest against the police. There was a lot of commotion between the two parties at the spot regarding this. The police also reached the spot as soon as the information was received.
JE Sonu of the Municipal Corporation’s sanitation department said that they are receiving complaints of sewer blockage from ward number 74. For this, they had reached the spot today to clean the sewerage with a jetting machine. He said he was cleaning the sewer when a father and son passing by started arguing with him about parking their car on the side. He brought a sharp weapon from his house and attacked him.
On receiving information about the attack, ACP North Rishabh Bhola reached the spot with a police party. The ACP said that he had received information about the attack on the municipal employees. He reached the spot and brought the situation under control. He said that he has received full cooperation from both the sides and further legal action will be taken based on whatever statements he gets.
